Question by Marena: [Tarot Card] Spread: The Tower, The Emperor, The Eight of Swords?
I asked a question pertaining to a guy that I had very strong feelings for, but we had a major falling out and haven’t spoken in a few years. He’s coming to town this weekend and I asked basically what I could expect from this weekend concerning him, it was a three card spread that was: The Tower, The Emperor, and the Eight of Swords.
I’m just looking for another interpretation of what it could mean! Thanks!

Hmm, yes, it appears that from your reading tarot is a load of BS and a deck of cards cannot predict the future.

  • Xavs says:

Sorry to say this, but a deck of tarot cards can predict the future no better then a deck of playing cards, or even a pile of paper scraps I have on my desk can.
They are just cards. Albeit cards with some rather nice art on them, I really like the work that goes into making some of the decks.

Did you guys have a battle over power? This could explain the Emperor.

Perhaps the Tower is telling you to let go of the past, so you two can build a new future.

I don’t know what the Eight of Swords means.

    Past Crisis

It is likely that some people/situations that you have counted on as being there for you may no longer be there in quite the same way. This doesn’t have to be dire; change is the nature of life, and trying to prevent it is like trying to row upstream without a paddle. If you have been building castles in the air this may be the time that some of them come crashing down to earth. That’s only a problem if you let it be. You will be able to replace them with some more realistic and reachable dreams and goals if some fantasies fall apart this month. Dreaming is important, but it’s also important to be living in reality too. You will get through this time just fine; particularly if you remember that you have all the resources you need, already inside you, to deal with life and to do what you need to do.

Present Achievement, he may be older

You may find yourself falling for someone who is older than you now. This person is likely to be attracted to order, logic, and organization. The attraction may not be mutual from the very beginning, but if you are patient and persistent, it is likely to grow.

    Future Indecision )))

Iit looks as though a kind, older man may be part of your scenario. This could be a work colleague, or your father or a father-type figure. Perhaps he will be interested in you romantically. If so, don’t rule him out, just because of his age. You may feel that this man sort of “rules with an iron fist” and that can be frustrating at times, but he is trying to help you to see that rules have their place and their reasons – and you will come out all the better for it. Above all else, this man teaches – without even trying, perhaps – the benefits of structure and logic ruling over the emotions and lesser desires.
n the context of love, the 8 of Swords points to a need to seriously re-evaluate a relationship. You may be sticking with someone that is actually bad for you, since you figure it’s “better than nothing.” If that’s the case, rethink. Being in an unhealthy relationship is much worse than being alone. If you are looking for love, first look at how well you love yourself. Someone else cannot come along and fix you. Start where you are.

This is a very interesting reading. The Tower to me has always represented the Ego, it terms of Freudian pyschology. The Tower is made up of our beliefs and conviction, and often we seem to stand alone from the top. It’s important to reach out to the people around us. The Tower represents the need to establish very strong foundations in life.

The Emperor is the individual. He represents the struggle for personal independence, through determination and will-power.

Eight of Swords represents frustration and the need for patience. It can also represent an inability to see clearly in a situation.

The Tower seems to represent the falling out you had with this person. It seems there was some sort of disagreement or inability to connect in your relationship. You were both standing on your own towers, worlds away. The Emperor represents you, and the Eight of Swords card represents how the weekend will go. Apparently there will be some sort of issue which you may not clearly understand, or you might lose sight of your values and yourself. It doesn’t seem like this person is a good match for you. You’ll need to be independent and not get back together with him.

…That’s my interpretation anyway. Hope it helps.

    Wow.

If you’re a tarot follower and believer, it sounds like you should just stay in this weekend. lol

  • Midnyte says:

First of all, what do YOU think these cards mean?

nobody can tell you exactly what these cards mean, because they were drawn by you for you to interpret. Maybe you should just relax and try to take another look at these cards again. And see what thoughts or feelings come up. It will be the most accurate.
Another thing – what were positions of your spread? Just drawing cards may be confusing.
