Question by Darth Nihilus: Would you ever go on one of those spiritual healing shows to prove it false?
Like going on Benny Hinn and not falling over? But, knowing the people that follow him, they’d just think the devil is very strong in you.

Best answer:

Answer by Blueicicle
Benny Hinn and his cohorts are the best actors and best actresses.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. – Matthew 24:24

    If I ever do something that stupid, I here by task you with locating my brain and putting it back into my head please.

  • J LOVE says:

    No because you have to pay an admission fee. Why should I pay to support a cause that I don’t believe in? Also, if you prove them wrong it’s not like they’ll show that part on their show. All the shows are, are just propaganda…FLAT OUT.

  • Dexter's 3rd Incarnation says:

    You can’t get on stage or camera unless you are ‘in with Hinn’ I would imagine.

    You could never get on the stage as the individuals are pre approved or should I say pre-screened. It’s called acting.

    Because they did not receive a love of the truth, God sent them a
    strong delusion that they might believe a lie.

  • Edward J says:

    I was in a bible chapel once when a couple of people were praying for everyone wanted to pray for me. They pushed me down and I jumped back to my feet. (Because I am not into fake). I should also mention I know other people of integrity who in other places (not that same chapel) fell without anyone touching them and even felt what felt like electricity buzzing through them. Others said they simply felt the presence of God. I question the claims of many and am not impressed with the theatrics of some evangelists/televangelists not to mention some of their personal life practices. I don’t however throw out claims of the supernatural just because of the abuses and misunderstandings that exist. I have also met people who I believe were genuinely healed whereas I don’t accept every claim of healing. I should also add the same day I was pushed over later that night I went to my own church a little down over the incident. The Pastor at my church just happened to preach on we don’t need to help God. Let the real be real. ( I should add I’m not a hyper emotional kind of person so I fee a little odd in services that are that way). Also I am troubled by some of the gospel of wealth some preachers are preaching these days. That being said I should also add that a man in Peterborough near where I live a few years ago made the front page of the local paper when he was healed at a Benny Hinn service. That being said he still had a steel rod in him although he was no longer confined to the wheel chair. I never met this person but was astonished to see it on the front page of the Peterborough examiner.

    Yeah he seems kinda loony. No man could heal another. He would have to be God Himself. Which reminds me of the story with the cripple man who wanted to walk. Really sounds cool.

    After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.1
    Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.2
    In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.3
    For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.4
    And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.5
    When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?6
    The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.7
    Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.8
    And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.9
    ~~~
    Because the devil would more than likely want us all dead,but the t.v. will do anything now days to make you believe in something. So I wouldn’t try it. Only God can ever really do miracles.
    The man who was ill, by his faith in Jesus was then healed. As it be to what man wants to see everything, for themselves and then believe in God. Doesn’t work that way. God will not show up for us. What are we as highminded people?
    God is not seen because God is a spirit. God is not based on ‘our head knowledge’ but our heart faith, and we will feel it. (KJV Bible)
    Christ died to pay for man’s sin debt, so we do not have to spend an eternity in hell. I say it was all done by love,love,love…
    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.(John14:6)
    That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.(Romans10:9)
    whosoever will, will be blessed! We confess our sins,ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins, believing in our heart we ask Jesus to be our personal Saviour.
    This is a good one.I went to a Benny Hinn show with the idea that this guys is pure bull.I do watch Tbn but they put some real shady pastors on.Well it was free they didn’t charge(They do pass a bucket lots of baskets since he was at The Continental Arena here in Jersey)..
    So that was pretty cool.My Fiance and I did go the floor when he called for people to get healed.Yes we both know he’s nutty.He really makes Faith Healing and Christians in general look bad.
    Let me say I have Kyphosis(Hunch back) it’s not as bad as it sounds but will affect me later on in life.Well needless to say we didn’t get far.His line of people was pretty long.
    A few days later I had a friend at work notice that I was walking different and looked taller.Well I never thought much about it.Then I did say I went to Benny Hinn.Well I guess I was healed.God is pretty awesome.Benny never touched me.But God used him.I still think Benny has issues but that’s between him and God.All’s I know my back did get a little straighter(Not complete but even a few degrees make a difference).
    I never fell over or was breathed on,but my back did get straighter.I know God had a hand in it.
    My step father-in-law went to one once not believing in healing and wound up getting healed of diabetes!He was going around telling everyone about it!Some healing services are real and some are a mockery!
  • the_answer says:
    All I would have to do is use God’s Word the Bible and prove it false along with some reasoning. First, let’s define this term “healing.” What does it mean?
    Healing defined is causing a person who has been physically, mentally, or spiritually sick to gain good health. Some of the pre-Christian Hebrew prophets as well as Jesus Christ and certain members of the early Christian congregation were enabled by God’s spirit to perform miraculous healing.
    The definition is significant. Notice it said, “enabled by God’s spirit to perform miraculous healing.” With that said, here’s another question, “Is miraculous healing in our day done by means of the spirit of God?” and…
    Can the ability to perform miracles come from a source other than the true God?
    Moses and Aaron appeared before Pharaoh of Egypt to request that Israel be allowed to go into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to Jehovah. As evidence of divine backing, Moses directed Aaron to throw down his rod and it became a big snake. That miracle was done by God’s power. But then the magic-practicing priests of Egypt threw down their rods and these, too, became big snakes. (Exodus 7:8-12) By whose power did they perform their miracle? (Compare Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
    In the 20th century some faith healing is performed in services conducted by the clergy of Christendom. Among non-Christian religions there are voodoo priests, witch doctors, medicine men, and others who also do healing; they often employ magic and divination. Some “psychic healers” say that their cures have nothing to do with religion. In all these instances, does the healing power come from the true God?
    Matthew 24:24: “False Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs [“miracles,” TEV] and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.”
    Matthew 7:15-23: “Be on the watch for the false prophets . . . Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works [“miracles,” JB, NE, TEV] in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
    Are the sensational cures of our day performed in the same way as the miraculous cures of Jesus and his early disciples?
    Cost of services: “Cure sick people, raise up dead persons, make lepers clean, expel demons. You received free, give free.” (Matt. 10:8) (Are healers today doing that—giving free, as Jesus commanded?)
    Rate of success: “All the crowd were seeking to touch him [Jesus], because power was going out of him and healing them all.” (Luke 6:19) “They brought the sick out even into the broad ways and laid them there upon little beds and cots, in order that, as Peter would go by, at least his shadow might fall upon some one of them.
    Also, the multitude from the cities around Jerusalem kept coming together, bearing sick people and those troubled with unclean spirits, and they would one and all be cured.” (Acts 5:15, 16) (In our day, do all who go to religious practitioners or to religious shrines seeking a cure get healed?)
    Does the way of life of members of the organizations of which “healers” are a part give evidence that they have God’s spirit?
    As a group do they outstandingly manifest such fruits of the spirit as love, long-suffering, mildness, and self-control? (Galatians 5:22, 23)
    Are they truly “no part of the world,” shunning all involvement in the world’s political affairs? Have they remained clean of bloodguilt during wartime? Do they have a fine reputation because of avoiding the world’s immoral conduct? (John 17:16; Isaiah 2:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8)
    Are true Christians today identified by the ability to do miraculous healing?
    John 13:35: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” (This is what Jesus said. If we really believe him, we look for love, not miraculous healing, as evidence of true Christianity.)
    Acts 1:8: “You will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me . . . to the most distant part of the earth.” (Just before leaving his apostles to return to heaven, Jesus told them that this, not healing, was the vital work they were to do. See also Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20.)
