Question by Miguel: Why do Christians say that they don’t have a religion, but a personal relationship with God?
All what christians do fit into Religion’s definition no?

See:
From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion
A religion is an organized approach to human spirituality which usually encompasses a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices, often with a supernatural or transcendent quality, that give meaning to the practitioner’s experiences of life through reference to a higher power, God or gods, or ultimate truth.[1] It may be expressed through prayer, ritual, meditation, music and art, among other things. It may focus on specific supernatural, metaphysical, and moral claims about reality (the cosmos and human nature) which may yield a set of religious laws, ethics, and a particular lifestyle. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience

Wikipukeia and the dictionary don’t determine truth for me.

The Bible is TRUTH.

Jesus is not a religion. Jesus is God and Savior 🙂 Jesus gives a relationship with Him, to all who believe in Him alone for salvation.

Only some Christians say that. I am Christian AND I have a religion. They go hand in hand. If I weren’t Christian, I would not go to a Christian Church or participate in a Christian religion. My religion gives a framework for knowing, growing, worshiping my God. Since Jesus Christ came to earth and established a Church for us to do just that, He thinks we need a Church. It would not be wise to turn down what Christ left us to help us with our salvation, earthly walk with him, entrance into heaven, etc… You are wrong that all Christians do not have a religion. Mine also happens to be unchanged by human influence….it is as Christ left it to us. That’s the hallmark of Orthodox Christianity. We humans think it is wrong to try to “fix” or “correct” what God left for us….that’s like saying we humans are better than God and know more than He did about what we need in Church. Spiritually speaking—not good. We maintain and participate in the Church as Jesus Christ left it to us. It is not mandatory, but it is helpful in spiritual life. Just as somebody could have been swimming during the whole time of the flood when Noah was in the ark, being inside the ark was the safer and smarter way to get through that time. It’s safer and spiritually smarter to be in the Church Christ left us than outside. All things are possible with God, but much more difficult outside His Church.

we have Jesus Holy Spirit living in us telling us all about our friend, conveying messages to us, from our friend and giving messages to Jesus, for us, just like you would communicate to someone on Yahoo, a cell phone, etc.

I don’t have to wear a prayer shaw, light a candle, go to a service, answer to a member of a religious order or any other religious thing. Jesus is simply my friend.

Because we do. God was calling to me long before I even knew he existed. I say good morning to Jesus when I wake up, I ask him to help me do things throughout my day, I thank him for helping me locate lost pens, tv remotes, etc. and I say good night to him when I go to bed.

I could care less what they call it, but it’s definitely not a “personal” relationship with God. If that was the case, they’d leave me, the government, and everyone else out of it. As far as the dictionary is concerned, it’s a religion.

NOTE: The above is strictly generally speaking. I do realize that there are Christians who do have a personal relationship with God and are perfectly capable of keeping it that way.
