@Fritigern378 The Americans that are studying these cultures don’t want to destroy them. Not all Americans are the same and many other nations have and still do play a part in the destruction of the Earth and in the colonization of indigenous peoples. Many indigenous peoples are calling for the outside world to understand their culture and share in their spirituality in the hope that this will help end the destruction of their culture and land. Love is the answer to all, not insults : )

Have faith in what you must, and know that the americans, europeans, chinese and all of the rest will come together. If you doubt it, then you work against the cause for a better world. Google Steve Beyer, another gringo in Chicago, he also has a blog spot, and has spent extensive time with female teachers which is key in this medicine, even the famous male ayahuascanaros are taught also by their grandmothers, or mothers in laws….Aya is a female medicine, and if you are not accepting or prepared to deal with the female, than be careful!

Reminder, Aya teaches that we have to keep our minds maintained, by simple converges with nature. Like sponges some of the material we have sopped has to be released. The Caucasion Nation needs to be cautioned not to become self rightous. “the road to hell was paved with good intentions”….
Keep working w/ your teachers, many in the field of medicine are experts. The experts mind has no room for growth, learning. The beginner’s many…and pple take, take, take, but on the other side of that coin, is that many of medicine lose their gifts to the material, and monetary pay. It’s bigger than karmic.

What I have seen these eco-tourism “businesses” do is create a money flow; I’ve seen more than one of them take advantage of the shamans. I’ve seen shamans become seduced by the lure of wealth brought to the jungle by “us”. I’ve just seen too much phoniness in the shaman business, even those purporting to be there to help. What I learned early on is that you don’t just take ayahuasca, you are innoculated by it. Once it’s in your system, it changes your life dramatically. Try it. Peace.
I agree with you 100%: There needs to be compensation to those who truly are connected with the “Other”; Many Westerners take advantage of shamans. The problem faced is one of corruption brought on by the introduction of Capitalism ,greed and ego into the realm of spirit. I have seen The effect of this degenerate mindset on both shamans and ceremony. Ayahuasca herself rejects all of these concepts. My main reaction to her has been deep humility. You do make sense in what you say; I do pay.
my understanding is the medicine is so powerful, heart based, intelligent & humbling 1 will get what they need. i know that many reputable people have built eco-tourism outfits all over the Amazon basin that is helping the local economy & is a proven model 4 SUSTAINABILITY. its great there’s so much interest in the Amazon/shamanism. more people get ayahuasca in their blood maybe we can awaken our true nature of love. 1 thing for sure is we need to expand past POVERTY CONSCIOUSNESS, Aya helps!
just curious; in this day & age how one who facilitates the use of these medicines is compensated energetically for there time and efforts. i work with indigenous Maori shaman who travel all over the world helping others with their healing. when it was left open for donation many left nothing. that does not pay for food and lodging for big Maoris. i see the same in s. america. 2 make medicine, build fires, make offerings all comes from some brother or sisters time, energy & money. u dont pay???

Forget Hamilton. Just another Gringo down there to make a name for himself and some big bucks. Might as well stay in the States or wherever and drop acid. Better yet, instead of Hamilton, I could recommend a good televangelist. He would be on the same spitual plane as the Ham Man. To me this is totally bogus. You have to go down there and spend some time; the first time you hear the word money- something like, the diet and ceremonies will cost $300 for two weeks- turn and run. It’s a scam.
