From my understanding this should be more spiritual than metaphysical. The action of Mars in the 12th house, is to a large extent unconscious and difficult to express overtly.
But to see if a person is more spiritual or metaphysical, you should check out Mercury which is the communication sign, and Saturn which rules your commitment.
