The Story
The history of this show is very interesting as it has grown into the full production of today. A New York bases improvisational acting group started the early work on this concept. This group called themselves “The Farm” and performed the early show under the name of CREPUSULE, actually billed as C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E. The group and show eventually grew and evolved into the current idea and called The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee which focuses on six adult actors playing the characters of younger children who are competing against each other to win the spelling bee.
