Spiritual development is possible only with meditation. Embracing meditation helps to understand the difference between meeting the needs of ego and those of spiritual development. Dissolving the ego is very essential for growth and development in this path. Though it sounds easy in theory it can prove to be a difficult task, buts fruits are worth it.
Consider a situation where you are caught up in the rat race. Are you always ending up spending money to pay for insurance policies? No matter how you look at it, these bills represent greed and ego driven fear. When was the last time some accident was prevented by the auto insurance policy? Oddly enough, you are at more risk of being in a collision at the time when you are driving to work in order to pay for the policy. Therefore, when you are seeking the road to true freedom, you will need to stop thinking in terms of trying to hold onto a static existence. Rather, you will need to learn how to flow with events in a way that enables you to evolve, and enjoy a harmonious existence.

For example, if you do not have enough money to buy food, then you may feel guilty about meditating for abundance. Unlike paying for insurance policies, buying food directly aids in promoting your survival. As a result, putting your meditation exercise to practice for the sake of these kinds of necessities has nothing to do with greed. In fact, once you have enough food in your stomach, you will find it much easier to focus on the path to spiritual development.
