I have been going to Rainbow Gatherings on & off since 1983. These clips come from a larger video that was done called 1997 Rainbowspirit. I have pulled all the Pagan songs & chants as well as others I love that aren’t Pagan from the video & will post each one here. I missed this gathering but my daughter was there. No she ain’t in any of the clips, at least I ain’t seen her. Though people of many religions go to gatherings, many are either Pagan or Native Shamanistic as well as a large sprinkle of Rastas & Krishnas, Christians & Buddhists & folks of the Vedic/Hindu traditions as well. This is the second clip in the series. ENJOY! (12/29/09) Ifyou enjoy my videos and like to see more and more quality videos, consider donating towards my “Help Gypsy get a RV Fund” by sending donations to my Pay Pal via my email, at: jlobos65 (at) gmail (dot) com Your donation will help me get out of my truck and into a bed and back up to Oregon where I can get work. SATIRE, Musical Improv of the Song O Come All Ye Faithful as performed by Princess Sunshine, New York’s own washed out performer for kids at the Wham, Slam, Bam Variety Hour, for the holiday special. THIS IS SATIRE. In the song I am also referring to Ancient Paganism, not modern Neo-Paganism. As my comments show, Ancient Paganism had blood ritual, sexual ritual, and I feel my satire is accurate. If anything my point was more of a comment on the Christian song, not a comment on modern Pagans. If you are a modern neo-pagan whatever that means to you, it was not my intention to offend. The 1st Amendment and Parody laws protect my free speech!

We have reason and judgement to make decisions about the things we come across in life. We use these mental tools to our advantage as no other animal has them to the degree that we do.

So yeah, I’m going to make a judgement and express my feelings on whatever issues I come across.

And when it comes to pagans, being ignorant I do my best to alleviate the ignorance. However, when it comes to denial.. there’s not much one can do.

  • havenae says:

What I meant about not acting like a pagan..

We don’t generally judge each other the way you’re judging Rave, and attempting to judge me.

Judging her because she takes offense to the video, when it’s only because she has a lot of pride in her beliefs.

And Judging me because I was simply pointing out how it can be understandable how one would take offense.

But what do we know, we’re both apparently ignorant.

  • havenae says:

As far as it goes I never said I particularly was offended by it.. I was merely pointing out that it is very reasonable to be offended.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

If getting upset about every stupid pagan joke or song, or anything making fun of any sort of witch/newage whatever belief is what a pagan acts like, then I’ll take it as a compliment. 🙂

  • havenae says:

Actually, it was the first time I’d been to the page, and I did leave as soon as I expressed MY freedom of speech.

And for somone who claims to be a pagan, you sure don’t act like one.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

If this is so offensive, why do you keep comming to the page and listening it, all you have to do is change the page or close the window.

You don’t get to take a way free speech because your widdle feewings were hurt.

I’m pagan and I think its heeelarioius. Lighten up, its just religion, its not worth getting worked up over, whats how we end up with crazy fundies blowing themselves up.

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

Exactly. THANK you. Cain and Abel were involved in animal sacrifices until one of them sacrificed the other through jealousy.
So labeling Pagans as the only ones to do that IS religious discrimination.

  • havenae says:

Regardless of whether or not this is a joke it IS insulting to some.

Perhaps while not as severe as racist jokes, would you expect a black man to sit and listen to a joke that demeans him and not get angry about it?

You have to expect somone is going to take offense to a video post like this.

  • havenae says:

Well… First of all, there’s PLENTY of sacrifice in the bible. So it’s a little ignorant itself to label ancient pagan cultures as the only ones to participate in such actions.

Second EVERY culture is prone to warring and invoking their religions beliefs to spur morale and whip their warriors into a frenzy.

Most ancient wars were fought over territorial disputes, wealth, or goods. Rarely were they over religious quarrels such as the crusades were.

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

If you’re going to attempt to insult me, make sure I know what it is so you at least know you succeeded in insulting me. And if she is making fun of Pagans in general, she doesnt need to mention a deity. She is making fun of the children of the path, and that alone is sickening. I never picked on a Christian unless they had it coming. So why pick on my brothers and sisters. It saddens me every time I meet someone as inable to understand a young pagan’s feelings such as you.
    *facepalm*

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

I don’t think its my ignorance but your inability to answer. But its fine. Seems like you have anger issues anyway.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

Your ignorance sickens me we’re done talking.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

She is being truthful, and she doesn’t mention a specific diety.

And its sad that you’d rather miss point than let some one make a couple of jokes, because thats the creed of fundies. It saddens me every time I meet a pagan fundie.

    *facepalm*

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

It IS religious discrimination because you, as well as I, know that Pagan is a word given to us by them and it is an umbrella term for almost every religion that wasn’t there during the times of the inquisition and the roman church. If she specified WHICH Pagans she were making fun of, it would be easier to know if she were making fun of me and my friends (not directly, of course). Until then, I’m not just going to assume she isn’t making fun of me and the goddess. So yes, I am a little ticked.

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

The only “PAGANS” I can think you are talking about are maybe Hindus. Everyone, that I know at least-which is A LOT, knows of the harm none rule and makes sure it is applied to their lives in some way. And the only “sacrifice” that I have done is offering food to my goddess in ritual and on my altar. And it wasn’t anything alive. It was fruit, grain and sugar. If she wants to make fun, she should be truthful in what she says. And I’d rather miss the point than let her make fun of my goddess.

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

And where did I say I was wiccan? Other than my name, I haven’t. I am a Pagan. I don’t call myself Wiccan because that is a melting pot mostly for the old Pagan beliefs. I stick to as much of one old way as humanly possible. And I would like to see your evidence that they did. And even IF they did, you are comparing notions of today to practically prehistoric ones. Its evolution of the mind. Morals have changed since then. The only Pagans who killed ANYTHING were in self-defense.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

Celtic pagans practiced HUMAN sacrifice. Animals were harmed/killed and eaten. And there were certainly some pagans who killed in the name of religion. Not all pagans are wiccan hon.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

Not necessarily. There are modern pagans who do practice sacrifice, and “harm none and the rule of three” while shared by a lot of different kinds of pagans are not universal.

And this is not religious discrimination, its a song she’s having some fun and making people laugh. I personally get a lot of laughs on christians, buddhists and muslims, why not let them laugh at me a little. 🙂

I really think you’re missing the point.

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

For modern Pagans, sacrifices are wrong because of the “harm none” and “law of three” rule. Harming others, including killing, are highly frowned upon, not only because it is against the law. This is called religious discrimination. I find it funny how she is making fun of pagans while celebrating a holiday based off a Pagan sabbat (Yule).

  • TheWiccanRaven says:

You say thanks for being mean, and then your last comment was completely mean. And blood sacrifice, normally it was just cutting and making a flesh wound so enough blood came out (I am mostly thinking of the Celtic-related Paganism, which is what I practice). But no one harmed animals back then. And killing humans was a big no-no in the name of your religion. If it was for land, wars were done, as it always happened back then everywhere. Land was faught over. But in the name of religion. No.

  • neptunestar says:

    this is awesome!

  • vampyricnightmare89 says:

i agree, it was a joke. laugh a little yo. and as for the rest of you tards, animal sacrifice does still exist, but it is unneccicary. why use animal blood to seal a spell when you could just use your own? im not going to kill my cat/dog/mouse/crow just for a spell. do you want your spell to work? THEN BIND IT RIGHT! DONT GO KILLING ANIMALS…for spells that is…curses on the other hand…

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

I read some of the comments and am going to bite the bullet and say what I must…let the hate mail begin.

Human, animal and plant sacrifice were and in some cases are still practiced all around the world.

Its just a joke and its NOT wrong to make fun of ANYBODY. Infact its our 1st ammendment right and, in my opinion, duty.

I’m gonnna laugh at jokes making fun of any one including myself. Again, not wrong, just laugh….its ok.

    Never take yourself too seriously.

  • ihaveopposablethumbs says:

LMFAO You are AWESOME!!! And funny too…

  • Julietjeske says:

Ancient Pagans certainly did practice blood sacrifice and sexual rituals. The term Pagan can mean ANY PRE-CHRISTIAN based faith. I was not referring to the modern Pagan faith. Nearly every faith has practiced blood sacrifice, at least in the form of animal sacrifice. You have every right to practice whatever faith you want. And I have every right to comment on it. I say make your own video explaining more about your faith, because I was commenting on the ancient one.
