Question by BeanBean ?: what are these strange ‘fortune telling’ cards? [pictures included]?
There are 52 cards. They are cardboard,a little bent, bigger than normal tarot cards. [i know what tarot looks like,and this is not them]. They came from my step-grandmothers house, i suppose they are old, but in very good shape if they are.[not faded, ripped etc.]they are made of sturdy cardboard, they are not falling apart or anything. there is no box..i have them in a ziplock bag now. i have gotten several remarks about them being from a magazine in the 1930s, fortune telling gypsy cards, transitional cards, voodoo etc. can anyone tell me where i can get more info [online anywhere?] pelase tell me what they are/what the are used for/ possible value?[if any]

The correct term is tarot cards. They are used for fortune telling as well as casting spells, as is controlling people’s fortunes. They can, if you have the skill, be very powerful & very dangerous if you don’t. I would suggest, if you don’t feel you have the skill, you find an undisturbed area in a local wooded area, dig a hole, & put them into it covered in salt. Then fill the hole. DO NOT just throw them out. You may feel I am being a bit over dramatic, but I am sure I have seen things that would stand your hair on end & I am still alive to warn you off these. If these were not specifically given to you by the former owner, get rid of them. There are some seriously dangerous things that can happen if you keep them.
