Best answer:

twice, but do you mean razed it to the ground, partially destroyed it or just rendered it unusable?
Give your answer to this question below!
Apparently not enough…
Twice, once by the Babylonians and again by the Romans.
They destroyed it twice, the first time by the Babylonians in 586 B.C, and the second time by the Romans in 70 A.D.
They didn’t had enough by destroying the temple, but also they killed the Jews and enslave them.
You have already been given the right answer–twice
They destroyed Solomon’s temple once. The Babylonians did it. Later, the Romans destroyed Herod’s temple.
Addendum: Herod tore down Zerubbabel’s temple when he built Herod’s temple. Herod is not usually thought of as a pagan, but some might call him one.
P.S. Isn’t it funny us atheists know the story better than the Christians?
I beg your pardon the pagans have not destroyed anything ever. History is littered with the crimes and atrocities of Christianity and other such organized religions, not the other way around. I think you need to study history mate.

The First Temple was built under Solomon’s reign.
It was destroyed by the Babylonians, then the Jewish leaders were kept in bondage.
The Temple (II) was later rebuilt under King Herod. It was destroyed by the Romans when the Jews rebelled against them. The Romans chose to make an example of the Jews; they knocked the entire city of Jerusalem to the ground (“not a stone standing except a tower to show how tall the city was before they destroyed it”).
There are however numerous accounts of the Jews getting their treasures stolen and their Temple defiled by the Egyptians and other countries.
“The pagans” as an entity never existed. The word “pagan” was a slur used by early urban Christians against conservative rural people who insisted on believing in the gods of their fathers no matter what those city upstarts said. It was roughly the equivalent of “rube” or “hick.”
Solomon’s temple was destroyed once, by the Babylonian Empire. It was replaced by Herod’s temple, which was destroyed by the Roman Empire.
answer: as others have said, twice.

Val and Ishtar – you need to read some history. No offense but pagans should be very knowledgeable about history in order to defend against attacks on the various pagan religions.
Pagan isn’t an offensive term as it was in Roman times.
Pagans destroyed the temple twice. Babylonians weren’t worshiping G-d. Romans weren’t worshiping G-d. That means they weren’t Jewish or Christian = pagans.
‘pagans’ didn’t destroy the temple, armies did. the romans destroyed it to suppress rebellion. it was a political act.
