The concept of sex and the attitude of the people towards sex have undergone major change in the modern times. Apart from the general public even the conservative institutions and the religious houses have somehow reconciled with this new trend of accepting the liberties that people take in terms of sex. Even art, architecture, media, and literature, without any holding back or inhibitions portray the sexual revolution that is taking place in the world today. Today people are no longer fearful of taking the path that they think is best for them in matters of sex. Sex is an extremely subjective matter and hence it is only for the better that today the times are changing and people are accepting the different aspects related with sex.
The sexual liberty of the modern times is but not without its share of liabilities and drawbacks. There is no denying the fact that the number of sexual crimes and the spread of the sexually transmitted diseases are at an all time high. Though there are a number of interspersed factors linked to it, yet the lax attitude towards the matters of sex is also to be blamed. People misunderstand the term sexual liberty. Sexual liberty is very much important, but it should not come at the cost of someone’s misery or at the cost of the moral degradation of the society at large. The liberty in case of one should not be a liability for the other. Unfortunately, the sexual scenario in the world as such is getting somewhat worrisome and grave.
